A major research report undertaken by Prospectus Global, on behalf of Pro Carton, has shown that, despite the pressures of COVID-19, environmental issues are very much at the forefront of consumers’ thinking. The research was conducted across 11 countries with a total of 7,051 consumers being interviewed. More than 6 out of every 10 consumers admit that the environmental impact of packaging affects their purchasing decisions and some 77% of respondents claim they are prepared to pay extra for more environmentally-friendly packaging. Whilst, there is recognition that brands and retailers are making progress in their moves to make their packaging more sustainable there was almost universal agreement that Governments, as well as companies, should do more to help the environment.
