FFI has produced a Fact Sheet as a general information service entitled “Biodegradability and compostability of folding cartons”.
‘Customers from the branded goods industry and trade are increasingly approaching folding carton manufacturers because they want to highlight the compostability and biodegradability of their fibre-based packaging on the packaging itself or in their product advertising.
Attributes such as “compostability” or “biodegradability” are intended to convey to the consumer a special “naturalness” of the packaging material that does not harm nature at the end of its useful life.’
