Meeting the Climate Challenge

The new lifestyle chewing gum 5 GUM for lifestyle-oriented adults aged between 18 and 29 years has convinced both the trade and consumers. The world’s largest maker of chewing gum has again given the gum segment a massive push. The conquest of Europe started in Germany in 2009, and included the Pro Carton/ECMA Award.

Sustainable Success

The results of the Pro Carton/ECMA Awards 2010 are fascinating – that much we can already say as a result of the jury sessions which took place in early July. Even if the number of entries has dropped marginally due to the recession, the quality was at least equal to last year’s – if not higher. The number of countries participating has increased. Most impressive was the excellent combination of structural and graphic design and the well-documented sustainability of the concepts.

Ask the Expert: Ecodesign

In the first issue of the new series “Ask the Expert” Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Wimmer answered questions by Pro Carton members. Wimmer is professor at the Technical University Vienna and founder and managing partner of the Ecodesign Company Engineering & Management Consultancy GmbH located in Vienna, Seoul and Ottawa. He is an expert on solutions for systematically developing products with a new balance between economics and ecology.
