Rüdiger Nölleke and Niklas Hanf from RICK Produktion GmbH visit third-graders at the Christophorus Elementary School in Essen.
RICK Produktion GmbH, led by interim manager Rüdiger Nölleke (COO) and production manager Niklas Hanf, recently visited the third grade of the Christophorus School in Essen-Kray to introduce both the children and the teaching staff to the TICCIT (Trees Into Cartons, Cartons Into Trees) school education program developed by Pro Carton.
Among other things, the children are supported in planting a tree sapling in a cardboard box, which they can then later plant in the school garden or in the ground at home. The school education program thus effectively promotes children’s environmental awareness. “Correct behavior learned early on is permanently stored and practiced,” says TICCIT representative Rüdiger Nölleke: “This way, even in old age, garbage no longer ends up thoughtlessly in the green space.” The visit to the municipal Catholic elementary school in Essen-Kray was made possible by PAPSTAR, whose group structure includes RICK Produktion GmbH, a sustainably oriented manufacturer of cardboard plates and meal trays (including for frozen products).
“For PAPSTAR, sustainability is a key part of our success model and deeply embedded in the company’s DNA,” says Managing Director Tom Kantelberg: “Based on this fundamental understanding, decisions are made and ambitious goals are set in order to fully meet our own requirements and those of our customers.” In addition to the consistent use of renewable raw materials, PAPSTAR is also increasingly focusing on sustainable solutions in the sense of circular material flow management (recycling, fiber-recovering processing).
