The European Pro Carton Young Designers Award (#pcyda) was a great success in 2022 with a new record number of more than 800 entries.  From those entries, 8 countries additionally choose their national winners, underlining the great appeal of the competition.  The national winners were celebrated in public ceremonies – below you will find the winners details.

When entering the European Pro Carton Young Designers Award, students also have the opportunity to enter a National competition to win an award.  In cooperation with National Carton Associations, Pro Carton has awarded creative carton packaging in 8 European countries in 2022.  The high response shows the importance of #pcyda as one of the leading annual competitions for creative, innovative packaging solutions made from carton in Europe.

The European and National awards are a perfect way to bring university teachers and students into contact with the cartonboard industry.  This connection gives the industry important input from the outside, through creative design concepts.  For young talents, it is another important step towards an exciting career as a designer.  And for Pro Carton, the National Awards are a chance to recognise smart design thinking and great carton packaging solutions created by students.

The jury this year consisted of chairman Satkar Gidda, Brand Consultant from the UK/Poland; Roland Rex, member of the Executive Board of WEIG Group; and Sanjeev Das, Unilever, Global Packaging Director in the food and ice cream division.  Jury chairman Satkar Gidda says “This competition gets better every year. So do the presentations – carefully planned, created and edited videos, very professionally done.”
