The European Commission has sent to all Member States new draft guidelines for the Single Use Plastics Directive.   Member States have until 25 January to submit written comments.

As part of Cepi 2020 Paper and Beyond conference which took place in November they have presented their main decarbonisation pathways to 2030. A key part of the manifesto is based around product substitution: “Our industry can provide climate-friendly substitutes to fossil-based, carbon-intensive products currently on the market, potentially creating a multiplier effect through our expertise in the circular economy”.

Cepi demand SUPD reconsideration

Cepi, supported by Pro Carton and other trade associations, have written to 73 leading members of the European Parliament to urge reconsideration of the scope of the Single Use Plastics Directive which currently includes polymer coated boards.
