The Pro Carton website – a popular resource!

We are sure that many of you reading this newsletter are regular visitors to the Pro Carton website. But what you probably won’t know is that the Pro Carton sites had 142,000 hits last year, with over 100,000 unique visitors! Over the last 12 months, the Pro Carton website (including our voting website) attracted 304,000 page views – proof that people want to learn more about cartons and cartonboard. Interest in Pro Carton and its activities is spread right across Europe with the top 5 countries visiting the website being United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy and France: While the majority of visitors access the website from a desktop device, some 32% now surf the site from their mobile devices, almost 3 times the number of people who did so back in 2015. So what are the most regularly visited areas of the Pro Carton website? Besides our Home Page, the most popular area is the Pro Carton Young Designers Award, Europe’s leading annual young talent competition for packaging design – which received almost 17,000 views last year. After our Awards, the next most popular area of the website is Publications where visitors can access reports, guides and infographics relating specifically to cartons and the cartonboard industry. The website has been through a lot of changes over the last few months. The site is updated at least once week and we’ve featured 12 different front pages over the last year. There’s also more in the Members Area than ever before. All Pro Carton members have access as does anyone who works for an ECMA member or a converter affiliated to an ECMA National Association – see our website for details! Unsurprisingly, the recently-created COVID-19 News page led to a quadrupling in the number of visits to our News section. Other new areas of the website include a Videos section, the new teaching resources such as EduCarton and Teaching TICCIT at Home as well as more EU and Political News. Why not take a look again at all the new developments on the Pro Carton website – you may find out something about cartons or cartonboard that you never knew before – Packaging for a Better World!
