New draft guidelines for the Single Use Plastics Directive from the European Commission

The European Commission has sent to all Member States new draft guidelines for the Single Use Plastics Directive.  

Member States have until 25 January to submit written comments.

All Folding Cartons are recyclable

A study conducted by FFI and PTS has confirmed that all folding cartons are recyclable as part of the paper stream collected from households. The fibre yield was reduced only by the proportion of non-fibre components.

Mayr-Melnhof Karton to acquire Kotkamills

Mayr-Melnhof Group has signed an agreement to acquire the entire share capital of Kotkamills Group Oyj from its shareholders. The transaction is subject to customary completion conditions and regulatory approval. Closing of the transaction is expected by mid of 2021.

Paper & Beyond

A key part of the manifesto is based around product substitution:

Revision in emissions target
