Ci\u00f2 implica che l'abbandono dei combustibili fossili come fonte di energia per l'industria dell'UE dovrebbe andare di pari passo con il mantenimento della competitivit\u00e0 globale del settore manifatturiero dell'Unione. Il contrario rischia di portare a una deindustrializzazione europea e di aumentare involontariamente le emissioni globali di CO<sub>2<\/sub> come conseguenza del fatto che l'industria dell'UE, relativamente pi\u00f9 pulita, ha perso rispetto ai concorrenti globali. <strong>Il settore della pasta di legno e della carta vanta gi\u00e0 un'impressionante serie di risultati per quanto riguarda il disaccoppiamento della crescita economica dalle emissioni di carbonio, con un valore di 39% di CO<sub>2<\/sub> riduzione delle emissioni dal 2005.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Il Cepi e un'alleanza di organizzazioni di supporto del settore energetico propongono una lista di controllo di cinque condizioni critiche e richieste politiche:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Garantire l'accesso dell'industria a un'abbondante e conveniente energia priva di combustibili fossili, sia per l'alimentazione che per il riscaldamento.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Facilitare la produzione di energia rinnovabile in loco e consentire all'industria di contribuire all'autosufficienza energetica dell'Europa.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Promuovere l'integrazione volontaria dell'industria per ottenere riduzioni delle emissioni a livello di sistema.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Consentire strumenti finanziari per mitigare i rischi associati agli investimenti industriali in nuovi impianti o in ristrutturazioni significative.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Incoraggiare l'innovazione nell'efficienza energetica e nell'integrazione delle energie rinnovabili nei processi industriali.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Il gruppo consultivo del Forum comprende le organizzazioni settoriali Bioenergy Europe, European Biogas Association (EBA), European Heat Pump Association (EHPA), Solar Heat Europe, Solar Power Europe, Wind Europe, il laboratorio di ricerca finlandese VTT, Re-Source, una piattaforma europea per l'approvvigionamento aziendale di energia rinnovabile e COGEN Europe, l'associazione europea per la promozione della cogenerazione.
