La Cepi, la Confederazione delle Industrie Cartarie Europee, e l'EPIS, l'Associazione Europea del Settore della Pasta di Legno e i suoi membri, presentano la loro #Iniziativa GreenSource<\/a>, uno sforzo a livello europeo per spiegare come le industrie delle fibre forestali realizzano l'obiettivo di neutralit\u00e0 climatica per il 2050.<\/p>\n

L'industria delle fibre forestali vuole offrire soluzioni innovative alle esigenze dei cittadini europei e contribuire a uno stile di vita sostenibile, assicurandosi che le foreste continuino a crescere, ad assorbire CO2 e a proteggere la biodiversit\u00e0.<\/p>\n

A recente studio scientifico commissionato dal Cepi<\/a> sull'effetto climatico del settore forestale nell'Unione Europea mostra che, grazie alle foreste e ai prodotti forestali, ogni anno togliamo dall'atmosfera 806 milioni di tonnellate di CO2 - che corrispondono a 20% delle emissioni annuali dell'UE - e creiamo 3,5 milioni di posti di lavoro, soprattutto nelle aree rurali.<\/p>\n

\"Possiamo contribuire a decarbonizzare l'economia e a rivoluzionare le abitudini di consumo grazie alle nostre alternative innovative ai materiali di origine fossile. Secondo un recente studio di Material Economics, 25% di plastica potrebbero essere facilmente sostituiti con carta e cartone gi\u00e0 oggi, senza compromettere la funzionalit\u00e0 del prodotto finale\". Forniamo soluzioni alternative prive di fossili per molti settori gi\u00e0 oggi: media, imballaggi, sanit\u00e0 e igiene, ma anche e sempre pi\u00f9 per il tessile. I materiali a base di cellulosa potrebbero persino sostituire la grafite utilizzata nelle tecnologie portatili e le possibilit\u00e0 virtualmente illimitate delle bioraffinerie ci aiutano a essere i campioni della chimica verde biobased.<\/p>\n

In tempi di COVID-19, \u00e8 importante ricordare che stiamo fornendo prodotti per l'imballaggio, il tissue e l'igiene che sono essenziali per i cittadini dell'UE e che sono buoni per il pianeta e per l'economia europea.<\/p>\n
