Ad esempio, solo il 14% degli imballaggi in plastica viene riciclato, quindi la maggior parte della plastica finisce incenerita o in discarica e, purtroppo, anche smaltita impropriamente nelle foreste e negli oceani (Ellen MacArthur Foundation, 2017).<\/p>\n<p>In un progetto pilota triennale, il VTT collabora con le aziende per portare la fabbricazione di prodotti in fibra di nuova generazione verso la scala della produzione industriale. I progetti pilota si svolgono presso la sede del VTT a Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4, che dispone, tra l'altro, del primo ambiente di ricerca al mondo che utilizza il processo di formazione della schiuma. Gli obiettivi selezionati per i progetti pilota includono materiali a base di fibre per sostituire le plastiche utilizzate, ad esempio, negli imballaggi alimentari, nei filtri, nei tessuti e nei materiali per la pulizia, l'igiene e l'edilizia.<\/p>\n<p>\"In questo progetto, stiamo creando una nuova comprensione delle reti di fibre a base biologica e di come, adattandole, possiamo produrre nuovi tipi di materiali riciclabili che non gravino sull'ambiente\", afferma il vicepresidente Jani Lehto del VTT.<\/p>\n<p>Dal laboratorio alla fase di pilotaggio fino allo sviluppo del prodotto<br \/>\nNella ricerca di nuovi materiali, la sfida consiste nel selezionare i pi\u00f9 interessanti tra un'ampia gamma di materie prime e opzioni di produzione, e nel ridurre il tempo necessario per scalare i risultati ottenuti su scala di laboratorio alla scala di produzione commerciale. Il lavoro di sviluppo svolto nell'ambito del progetto consentir\u00e0 di acquisire competenze su varie materie prime, attrezzature e tecnologie di produzione. Sulla base del lavoro di sviluppo, le aziende possono passare alla fase di sviluppo del prodotto per diverse soluzioni in progetti guidati dall'azienda.<\/p>\n<p>Il progetto Piloting Alternatives for Plastics \u00e8 iniziato il 1\u00b0 aprile 2020 e terminer\u00e0 il 31 marzo 2023. Il suo budget totale \u00e8 di 6,7 milioni di euro. Il progetto \u00e8 attuato con finanziamenti del Fondo europeo di sviluppo regionale (FESR), del VTT e delle societ\u00e0 coordinate dal Consiglio regionale della Finlandia centrale.<\/p>\n<p>Al progetto partecipano 52 aziende finlandesi ed europee.
