Une question souvent pos\u00e9e est de savoir comment l'empreinte carbone des cartons (326 kg de CO2 par tonne de cartons) se compare \u00e0 celle des emballages \u00e0 base de combustibles fossiles. Pro Carton a r\u00e9cemment entrepris une \u00e9tude qui compare non seulement les donn\u00e9es publi\u00e9es sur l'empreinte carbone par tonne de mat\u00e9riau, mais qui examine \u00e9galement l'empreinte carbone par unit\u00e9. Quatre produits ont \u00e9t\u00e9 compar\u00e9s, l'un dans un emballage principalement en plastique et l'autre en carton, pour trois produits alimentaires et un article non alimentaire. Les r\u00e9sultats sont tr\u00e8s favorables au carton, m\u00eame si l'on se contente de comparer les \u00e9missions respectives de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre d'origine fossile. L'analyse a \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9e par RISE, l'institut de recherche su\u00e9dois, et a fait l'objet d'un examen par les pairs d'Intertek, l'un des principaux fournisseurs d'assurance qualit\u00e9 totale.<\/p>\n
