Le projet \"Piloting Alternatives for Plastics\" r\u00e9unit un large \u00e9ventail d'entreprises finlandaises et internationales pour faire \u00e9voluer les mat\u00e9riaux d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s en laboratoire vers une production plus industrielle. Le projet est financ\u00e9 par le Fonds europ\u00e9en de d\u00e9veloppement r\u00e9gional, le VTT et des entreprises.<\/p>\n<p>Le plastique est un excellent mat\u00e9riau qui pr\u00e9sente de nombreuses propri\u00e9t\u00e9s uniques, par exemple dans les applications d'emballage. On estime que la consommation de plastique doublera au cours des 20 prochaines ann\u00e9es. Le plus grand d\u00e9fi pour les produits en plastique est leur recyclabilit\u00e9. Par exemple, seuls 14% des emballages en plastique sont recycl\u00e9s, de sorte que la majorit\u00e9 du plastique finit par \u00eatre incin\u00e9r\u00e9 ou dans des d\u00e9charges et, malheureusement, \u00e9galement \u00e9limin\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re inappropri\u00e9e dans les for\u00eats et les oc\u00e9ans (Ellen MacArthur Foundation, 2017).<\/p>\n<p>Dans le cadre d'un projet pilote de trois ans, VTT travaille avec des entreprises pour faire passer la fabrication de produits en fibre de nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle de la production industrielle. Les projets pilotes sont men\u00e9s au VTT \u00e0 Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4, qui dispose, entre autres, du premier environnement de recherche au monde \u00e0 utiliser le processus de formation de mousse. Les cibles pilotes s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9es comprennent des mat\u00e9riaux \u00e0 base de fibres pour remplacer les plastiques utilis\u00e9s, par exemple, dans les emballages alimentaires, les filtres, les textiles ainsi que les mat\u00e9riaux d'essuyage, d'hygi\u00e8ne et de construction.<\/p>\n<p>\"Ce projet nous permet de mieux comprendre les r\u00e9seaux de fibres biosourc\u00e9es et la fa\u00e7on dont, en les adaptant, nous pouvons produire de nouveaux types de mat\u00e9riaux recyclables qui ne nuisent pas \u00e0 l'environnement\", explique Jani Lehto, vice-pr\u00e9sident du VTT.<\/p>\n<p>Du laboratoire \u00e0 la phase de d\u00e9veloppement du produit en passant par le pilotage<br \/>\nDans la recherche de nouveaux mat\u00e9riaux, le d\u00e9fi consiste \u00e0 s\u00e9lectionner les plus int\u00e9ressants parmi un large \u00e9ventail de mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res et d'options de fabrication, et \u00e0 r\u00e9duire le temps n\u00e9cessaire pour transposer les r\u00e9sultats obtenus \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle du laboratoire \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle de la production commerciale. Le travail de d\u00e9veloppement effectu\u00e9 dans le cadre du projet permettra d'acqu\u00e9rir une expertise dans diverses mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res, \u00e9quipements et technologies de fabrication. Sur la base des travaux de d\u00e9veloppement, les entreprises peuvent passer \u00e0 la phase de d\u00e9veloppement du produit pour diff\u00e9rentes solutions dans le cadre de projets men\u00e9s par l'entreprise.<\/p>\n<p>Le projet Piloting Alternatives for Plastics a d\u00e9but\u00e9 le 1er avril 2020 et se termine le 31 mars 2023. Son budget total est de 6,7 millions d'euros. Le projet est mis en \u0153uvre gr\u00e2ce au financement du Fonds europ\u00e9en de d\u00e9veloppement r\u00e9gional (FEDER), du VTT et des entreprises coordonn\u00e9es par le Conseil r\u00e9gional de Finlande centrale.<\/p>\n<p>Les participants au projet comprennent 52 entreprises de Finlande et d'ailleurs en Europe.
