Cepi, der Verband der europ\u00e4ischen Papierindustrie, und EPIS, der europ\u00e4ische Branchenverband der Zellstoffindustrie und seine Mitglieder, stellen ihre #GreenSource-Initiative<\/a>eine europaweite Anstrengung, um zu erl\u00e4utern, wie die Holzfaserindustrie das Klimaneutralit\u00e4tsziel f\u00fcr 2050 erreichen kann.<\/p>\n

Die Forstfaserindustrie m\u00f6chte innovative L\u00f6sungen f\u00fcr die Bed\u00fcrfnisse der europ\u00e4ischen B\u00fcrger anbieten und zu einem nachhaltigen Lebensstil beitragen, w\u00e4hrend sie gleichzeitig daf\u00fcr sorgt, dass die W\u00e4lder weiter wachsen, CO2 absorbieren und die biologische Vielfalt sch\u00fctzen.<\/p>\n

A aktuelle wissenschaftliche Studie im Auftrag von Cepi<\/a> \u00fcber den Klimaeffekt des forstbasierten Sektors in der Europ\u00e4ischen Union zeigt, dass wir dank der W\u00e4lder und forstbasierten Produkte jedes Jahr 806 Millionen Tonnen CO2 aus der Atmosph\u00e4re holen - das entspricht 20% der j\u00e4hrlichen Emissionen der EU - und gleichzeitig 3,5 Millionen Arbeitspl\u00e4tze schaffen, insbesondere in l\u00e4ndlichen Gebieten.<\/p>\n

\"Wir k\u00f6nnen dazu beitragen, die Wirtschaft zu dekarbonisieren und die Konsumgewohnheiten zu revolutionieren - dank unserer innovativen Alternativen zu fossilen Materialien. Laut einer aktuellen Studie von Material Economics k\u00f6nnten bereits heute 25% an Kunststoffen leicht durch Papier und Pappe ersetzt werden, ohne die Funktionalit\u00e4t des Endprodukts zu beeintr\u00e4chtigen.\" Jori Ringman, Cepi DG.<\/p>\n

Wir bieten bereits heute fossilfreie Alternativl\u00f6sungen f\u00fcr viele Bereiche: Medien, Verpackungen, Gesundheitswesen und Hygiene, aber auch zunehmend f\u00fcr Textilien. Auf Zellulose basierende Materialien k\u00f6nnten sogar den in tragbaren Technologien verwendeten Graphit ersetzen, und die praktisch unbegrenzten M\u00f6glichkeiten in Bioraffinerien helfen uns, uns f\u00fcr die biobasierte gr\u00fcne Chemie einzusetzen.<\/p>\n

In Zeiten von COVID-19 ist es wichtig, sich daran zu erinnern, dass wir Verpackungs-, Tissue- und Hygieneprodukte liefern, die f\u00fcr die EU-B\u00fcrger unverzichtbar sind und gleichzeitig gut f\u00fcr den Planeten und die europ\u00e4ische Wirtschaft sind.<\/p>\n
