Der Bericht schafft ein Gleichgewicht zwischen den vielen Erwartungen, die die politischen Entscheidungstr\u00e4ger an die Rolle der W\u00e4lder und der Waldbewirtschaftung f\u00fcr die Gesellschaft als Ganzes haben. Waldressourcen bieten eine Vielzahl von \u00d6kosystemleistungen, wie z.B. Holz, sauberes Wasser, gesunde B\u00f6den und Artenvielfalt.<\/p>\n<p>Im Hinblick auf die bevorstehende \u00dcberarbeitung der Forststrategie fordert Cepi die Europ\u00e4ische Kommission auf, die Lebensf\u00e4higkeit des gesamten industriellen \u00d6kosystems der W\u00e4lder zu f\u00f6rdern und insbesondere die ganzheitlichen Klimavorteile zu ber\u00fccksichtigen, die das \u00d6kosystem bietet, insbesondere durch die Substitution von fossilen Materialien und Energie. Die Europ\u00e4ische Kommission sollte den Klimanutzen von W\u00e4ldern und forstbasierten Produkten sowie die Notwendigkeit anerkennen, \u00f6kologische, wirtschaftliche und soziale Aspekte der W\u00e4lder und der Forstwirtschaft zu f\u00f6rdern.<\/p>\n<p>\"Wir hoffen, dass die k\u00fcnftige Forststrategie viele Elemente aus den \u00d6kosystemen der Wirtschaft enth\u00e4lt, um das gesamte Potenzial der europ\u00e4ischen W\u00e4lder auszusch\u00f6pfen. Diskussionen und Debatten \u00fcber die Forstwirtschaft sind ein wichtiger Schritt, aber der Gesamtnutzen kann durch gut funktionierende und lebendige Wertsch\u00f6pfungsketten erreicht werden, die durch eine nachhaltige aktive Waldbewirtschaftung unterst\u00fctzt werden\", kommentierte Jori Ringman, Generaldirektor von Cepi.<\/p>\n<p>Dar\u00fcber hinaus fordert Cepi, dass die neue Forststrategie ein unabh\u00e4ngiges, eigenst\u00e4ndiges Leitinstrument f\u00fcr alle forstbezogenen Politiken in der EU sein soll. Die Industrie braucht Vorhersehbarkeit, wenn es um aktuelle und k\u00fcnftige politische Ma\u00dfnahmen geht, die sich auf die Waldressourcen auswirken.<\/p>\n<p>\"Die Weiterentwicklung eines nicht endnutzungsspezifischen Nachhaltigkeitsansatzes sollte ein Schl\u00fcsselelement der neuen Forststrategie der EU sein. In den meisten F\u00e4llen zielt die Waldbewirtschaftung auf die Erzeugung von hochwertigem Holz ab, wobei Zellstoff und Reststoffe als Nebenprodukt anfallen. Alle forstbasierten Produkte st\u00fctzen sich auf diese verschiedenen Quellen, weshalb es einen einzigen Nachhaltigkeitsansatz geben sollte, der bei Bedarf in verschiedene EU-Politiken eingebettet wird. In ein paar Jahren werden wir eine Reihe von Nachhaltigkeitskriterien f\u00fcr den Finanzsektor und eine andere Reihe von Kriterien f\u00fcr den Energiesektor haben. Diese Art von doppeltem Ansatz sollte in der Zukunft nicht fortgesetzt werden. W\u00e4lder werden ohne R\u00fccksicht auf ihre Endnutzung bewirtschaftet. Dies sollte sich auch in der Klima-, Energie-, Landwirtschafts- und anderen Politiken widerspiegeln, f\u00fcr die die EU und die Mitgliedstaaten gemeinsam zust\u00e4ndig sind\", so Ringman weiter.<\/p>\n<p>Mehr als 90% des von der europ\u00e4ischen Zellstoff- und Papierindustrie bezogenen Holzes stammen aus nachhaltig bewirtschafteten europ\u00e4ischen W\u00e4ldern und 74% der W\u00e4lder sind PEFC- oder FSC-zertifiziert.
