In den letzten Monaten haben fast alle europ\u00e4ischen L\u00e4nder weitreichende Ma\u00dfnahmen ergriffen, die das \u00f6ffentliche Leben einschr\u00e4nken und fast vollst\u00e4ndig zum Erliegen bringen. Covid-19 hat Europa und die Welt in den W\u00fcrgegriff genommen, so dass \"Business as usual\" nicht mehr in Frage kommt.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Die Covid-19-Situation hat zu immensen Herausforderungen in den Bereichen Produktion, Beschaffung und Logistik<\/strong> f\u00fcr die Karton- und Faltschachtelindustrie und ihre Lieferkette. Unsere Industrie hat alle notwendigen Sicherheitsma\u00dfnahmen ergriffen, um die Besch\u00e4ftigten in diesen au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlichen Zeiten bestm\u00f6glich zu sch\u00fctzen. Trotz der angespannten Situation entlang der Liefer- und Transportketten konnte die Karton- und Faltschachtelindustrie die Produktion stets auf hohem Niveau halten und damit die Versorgung mit lebenswichtigen Verpackungen f\u00fcr Lebensmittel und Pharmazeutika sicherstellen.<\/p>\n

Abgesehen von ihren zahlreichen dramatischen negativen Auswirkungen stellt die Krise auch M\u00f6glichkeiten<\/strong> unsere Sichtweise zu \u00e4ndern. Im Falle unserer Branche ist die Bedeutung der Verpackung<\/strong> mit seiner unverzichtbaren Schutz-, Hygiene- und Transportfunktion hat erh\u00f6ht<\/strong>. Ob Lebensmittel, Medikamente, Hygieneprodukte oder andere Konsumg\u00fcter des t\u00e4glichen Bedarfs - die weitere Versorgung h\u00e4ngt von der Verf\u00fcgbarkeit geeigneter Verpackungen ab. Das deutsche Bundesministerium f\u00fcr Ern\u00e4hrung und Landwirtschaft (BMEL) sowie viele andere europ\u00e4ische Regierungen haben best\u00e4tigt, dass Verpackungen systemrelevant und Teil der \"kritischen Infrastruktur\" sind.<\/p>\n

Die Krise hinterl\u00e4sst - zumindest kurzfristig - positive Spuren in der Natur; sowohl die Luft- als auch die Wasserqualit\u00e4t haben sich verbessert. Auch wenn sie nur eine Momentaufnahme der Gegenwart ist, kann sie uns lehren, wie wir die Natur mit mehr Respekt behandeln<\/strong> in der Zukunft. Die L\u00e4nder, die fr\u00fchzeitig und proaktiv auf die Pandemie reagiert haben, kommen am besten mit der Krise zurecht. Das Gleiche gilt f\u00fcr die Umweltkrise. Wir k\u00f6nnen es uns nicht leisten zu warten, sondern m\u00fcssen jetzt handeln. Die Auswirkungen der Korona-Krise m\u00fcssen mit einer \"ehrgeizigen Klimapolitik\" verkn\u00fcpft werden. Die EU hat mit neuen Richtlinien f\u00fcr eine klimafreundliche Umgestaltung der europ\u00e4ischen Wirtschaft einen Anfang gemacht. Die wichtigsten f\u00fcr die Verpackungsindustrie sind die Single Use Plastics Directive (SUPD) und die Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive (PPWD). Beide werden erhebliche Auswirkungen auf die Wahl der Verpackungsmaterialien haben, wobei Karton als umweltfreundlichste Verpackung an Bedeutung gewinnen wird.<\/p>\n

Lassen Sie uns daher die gegenw\u00e4rtige Situation nutzen, um einige nachhaltige Ver\u00e4nderungen vorzunehmen und gest\u00e4rkt daraus hervorzugehen. Alles, was wir brauchen, ist Mut und Optimismus. Wir haben allen Grund, nach vorne zu schauen:
