In Zukunft k\u00f6nnten sie Kunststoffe zum Beispiel in Verpackungen, Hygieneprodukten, Baumaterialien und Textilien ersetzen. Das Projekt Piloting Alternatives for Plastics bringt ein breites Spektrum finnischer und internationaler Unternehmen zusammen, um in Labors entwickelte Materialien in die industrielle Produktion zu \u00fcberf\u00fchren. Das Projekt wird vom Europ\u00e4ischen Fonds f\u00fcr regionale Entwicklung, dem VTT und Unternehmen finanziert.<\/p>\n<p>Kunststoff ist ein hervorragendes Material mit vielen einzigartigen Eigenschaften, z. B. f\u00fcr Verpackungsanwendungen. Es wird gesch\u00e4tzt, dass sich der Kunststoffverbrauch in den n\u00e4chsten 20 Jahren verdoppeln wird. Die gr\u00f6\u00dfte Herausforderung f\u00fcr Kunststoffprodukte ist ihre Recycelbarkeit. So werden beispielsweise nur 14% der Kunststoffverpackungen recycelt, so dass der Gro\u00dfteil des Kunststoffs in der Verbrennung oder auf Deponien landet und leider auch unsachgem\u00e4\u00df in W\u00e4ldern und Ozeanen entsorgt wird (Ellen MacArthur Foundation, 2017).<\/p>\n<p>Im Rahmen eines dreij\u00e4hrigen Pilotprojekts arbeitet das VTT mit Unternehmen zusammen, um die Herstellung von Faserprodukten der neuen Generation in den Ma\u00dfstab der industriellen Produktion zu bringen. Die Pilotprojekte werden bei VTT in Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 durchgef\u00fchrt, wo u. a. die weltweit erste Forschungsumgebung zur Verf\u00fcgung steht, in der das Schaumstoffformungsverfahren eingesetzt wird. Zu den ausgew\u00e4hlten Pilotprojekten geh\u00f6ren Materialien auf Faserbasis, die Kunststoffe ersetzen sollen, die beispielsweise in Lebensmittelverpackungen, Filtern, Textilien sowie Wisch-, Hygiene- und Baumaterialien verwendet werden.<\/p>\n<p>\"In diesem Projekt schaffen wir neue Erkenntnisse \u00fcber biobasierte Fasernetze und dar\u00fcber, wie wir durch ihre Anpassung neue Arten von wiederverwertbaren Materialien herstellen k\u00f6nnen, die die Umwelt nicht belasten\", sagt Vizepr\u00e4sident Jani Lehto vom VTT.<\/p>\n<p>Vom Labor \u00fcber die Pilotierung bis zur Produktentwicklung<br \/>\nBei der Erforschung neuer Materialien besteht die Herausforderung darin, aus einem breiten Spektrum von Rohstoffen und Herstellungsm\u00f6glichkeiten die interessantesten auszuw\u00e4hlen und die Zeit zu verk\u00fcrzen, die erforderlich ist, um die im Laborma\u00dfstab erzielten Ergebnisse auf den kommerziellen Produktionsma\u00dfstab zu \u00fcbertragen. Die im Rahmen des Projekts durchgef\u00fchrte Entwicklungsarbeit wird zu Fachwissen \u00fcber verschiedene Rohstoffe, Ausr\u00fcstungen und Herstellungstechnologien f\u00fchren. Auf der Grundlage der Entwicklungsarbeit k\u00f6nnen die Unternehmen in die Produktentwicklungsphase f\u00fcr verschiedene L\u00f6sungen in unternehmensgesteuerten Projekten eintreten.<\/p>\n<p>Das Projekt \"Piloting Alternatives for Plastics\" begann am 1. April 2020 und endet am 31. M\u00e4rz 2023. Sein Gesamtbudget betr\u00e4gt 6,7 Millionen Euro. Das Projekt wird mit Mitteln des Europ\u00e4ischen Fonds f\u00fcr regionale Entwicklung (EFRE), des VTT und von Unternehmen durchgef\u00fchrt, die vom Regionalrat von Mittelfinnland koordiniert werden.<\/p>\n<p>An dem Projekt sind 52 Unternehmen aus Finnland und anderen europ\u00e4ischen L\u00e4ndern beteiligt.
