Auf der Grundlage von Lebenszyklusdaten aus dem Jahr 2014 hat Pro Carton berechnet, dass der Carbon Footprint der Branche bei 885 kg CO2 eq \/ Tonne Faltschachteln liegt. Dieser Wert ersetzt den zuletzt 2011 berechneten Carbon Footprint von 915 kg CO2-\u00c4quivalent pro Tonne. Dar\u00fcber hinaus zeigt eine Studie \u00fcber biogenen Kohlenstoff in Faltschachteln, dass eine betr\u00e4chtliche Menge an Kohlenstoff im Rohstoff des Faltschachteln - Holzfasern - absorbiert und \"eingeschlossen\" wird.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pro Carton hat Umweltdaten zu den in Europa produzierten Kartonverpackungen gesammelt und eine \u00d6kobilanz mit europ\u00e4ischen Durchschnittswerten erstellt. Diese beziehen sich auf die Menge der f\u00fcr die Herstellung von Kartonverpackungen eingesetzten Ressourcen und die Auswirkungen der Produktionsprozesse im Jahr 2014. Anhand dieser Daten errechnete Pro Carton einen Kohlenstoff-Fu\u00dfabdruck von 885 kg Kohlendioxid (und \u00c4quivalenten), die f\u00fcr jede Tonne verarbeiteten Kartons entstehen. Der aktuelle LCI-Bericht zeigt, dass die Karton- und Faltschachtelindustrie weiterhin verantwortungsvoll und effizient mit ihren Umweltauswirkungen umgeht.<\/p>\n<p>Als Industriezweig, der auf der erneuerbaren Ressource des Waldes basiert, hat Karton als Verpackungsmaterial einen einzigartigen Vorteil. Sie kann f\u00fcr sich in Anspruch nehmen, dass der aus nachhaltig bewirtschafteten W\u00e4ldern stammende Rohstoff Kohlenstoff bindet und speichert, dass Kartons im Gebrauch weiterhin Kohlenstoff speichern und dass das Recycling von Kartons den Kohlenstoff bindet und verhindert, dass er in die Atmosph\u00e4re zur\u00fcckkehrt.<\/p>\n<p>Die Industrie ist der Ansicht, dass Kartons f\u00fcr ihre Rolle bei der Verringerung des Kohlenstoffs in der Atmosph\u00e4re anerkannt werden sollten. Eine Studie des schwedischen Umweltforschungsinstituts (IVL) <em>(1)<\/em> ergab, dass durch die Nachfrage nach Faltschachteln auf dem Markt 730 kg biogenes Kohlendioxid pro durchschnittlicher Tonne Faltschachteln in Europa der Atmosph\u00e4re entzogen werden. Die biogene Studie des IVL erg\u00e4nzt die Daten von Pro Carton, und der fossile Kohlenstoff-Fu\u00dfabdruck von 885 kg CO2 eq \/ Tonne produzierten und verarbeiteten Kartons konnte gegen die Zahl von -730 kg biogener CO2-Bindung abgewogen werden.<\/p>\n<p>Die Wahl von Karton f\u00f6rdert daher die Bindung von Kohlendioxid zur Herstellung eines erneuerbaren Materials und zeigt den positiven Beitrag, den Kartonverpackungen zur Debatte \u00fcber den Klimawandel und die Umwelt leisten.<\/p>\n<p><em>(1) Carbon Footprint of Cartons in Europe -
