Are you a Star Designer of Tomorrow?

>> Here are the winners!

Comment & share winners and finalists with your colleagues and friends.

The Pro Carton Young Designers Award is one of Europe’s leading young talent competitions for packaging design. For 15 years now, the Award has given young designers both professional recognition as well as a networking platform with industry – a first step towards a professional career.

Two categories:

  • Creative Cartonboard Packaging: Cartonboard is the most sustainable packaging material and, of course, fully recyclable.
  • Creative Cartonboard Ideas: Here’s a chance for you to put forward your cartonboard ideas outside of the packaging market. Last year’s winner was a cartonboard bowtie!
Ideally you should submit physical 3D samples but illustrations or two dimensional layouts are also welcome.

What you can win:

The main prize is one-week practical training at an international packaging company. Furthermore, all finalists and their lecturers will be invited to the Gala Awards dinner and award ceremony on 21st September 2017 in Salzburg – the city of Mozart and Red Bull! And of course, there will also be trophies, certificates and comprehensive marketing activities (>> Look at the images from the Gala 2016).

This year, two key international Cartonboard and Carton Companies will sponsor the training of the winners – all expenses paid:

  1. One-week practical training at Graphic Packaging International, a worldwide leader in the packaging industry: Students will be spending the week at the Global Innovation Centre, in Bardon, UK – taking a journey through consumer insight led design & specification, to an overview of the carton manufacturing process.
  2. A two-day visit to Iggesund Paperboard, who produces some of the world’s leading paperboard brands: Students will be invited to Iggesund’s mill in Sweden where they will experience the making of paperboard from the forest through to the finished material.
