The annual awards are organised jointly by Pro Carton and ECMA, the European Carton Makers Association. Last year, more than 120 attractive and successful packaging options were entered. There are awards in eight separate categories, plus three special awards for the most innovative use of cardboard, the most sustainable idea amongst all the entries, and the "Carton of the Year".

An award brochure in five languages will present the winners, publish the judges' comments and tell the stories behind the best designs.

The deadline for entries is 18th June 2010 and the jury, chaired by Satkar Gidda of leading London design agency Siebert Head, will meet in early July. The other judges are Pascal van Beek, Global Supply Management Director Packaging for Unilever Supply Chain Company in Switzerland (for the consumer goods industry), Guido Brosius, Packaging Manager at Carrefour Belgium, part of the Carrefour Group (for the retailers), and Burgunde Uhlig, who heads the food department of the German women's magazine Brigitte (for consumers).

Entry is open to all members of Pro Carton and ECMA, as well as designers and those working in consumer goods and retail, who are invited to enter via their supply chain partners in the cartons and folding cartons industry.
